Welcome to Sri Bhuvaneswari Hindu Temple's website!

Welcome to Sri Bhuvaneswari Hindu Temple's web site - the first Temple dedicated to Goddess Bhuvaneswari in North America!

Followers of Hinduism can be classified in six broad categories - Ghana Pathyam (Ganesha worship), Saivam (Siva worship), Vaishnavam (Vishnu worship), Sāktham (Devi worship), Skāntham (Muruga worship) and Sowram (Sun worship). Of these, Sāktham or worship of God in a Sakthi (feminine) form is considered supreme. Under this form of worship comes Sri Bhuvaneswari Temple. We are delighted to inform you that the Maha Kumbabhishekam was conducted on February 7, 2003. Vedic Pandits from various temples in Canada and U.S.A participated in the event. You will find full coverage of the event through photographs, in our web site. Following the Mahā Kumbābhishékam, Mandala Abhishekam was conducted continuously for 48 days. The temple was shifted to a permanent location in July 2010 in the city of Brampton near Toronto and plans are underway to conduct the Mahā Kumbābhishékam in the month of August 2010.

In addition to Sri Bhuvaneswari, the Temple has separate sancta for Lord Ganesha, Sri Trimurtheeswarar, Sri Shanmuga accompanied by Sri Valli and Sri Devasena, Sri Ayyappa, Sri Durga, Sri Saneeswarar, Sri Bairavar, Sri Nāgarājā, Navagrahās, Sri Ānjaneya & Sri Chandeeswari. All the Vigrahams installed in the temple are very exquisitely carved and are attended to by a qualified and dedicated Priest. The Mahā Meru installed in the temple is one of the largest of its kind in the world. Please see the Deities page for additional information.
